FOR THE LOVE OF NIKE
Why I love The Brand
Needless to say I love Nike. I have been a fan of their shoes since I could remember. After college in the nineties I worked at Champs and I use to droll over all the latest styles (that I could not afford at the time on a cashiers salary) and dream of having a sneaker collection. Fast forward to twenty years later and I have pretty much achieved that dream (for better or worse). I am what they call a sneaker head and I am completely proud of it. I love their styles, the quality and the brand as a whole. I think Air Max day (March 26) is one of my favorite days besides my birthday and Christmas. For this years Air Max day I posted a picture holding one of favorites pairs of Air Max sneakers, which is my Air Max 97 in the gold/black/white color way. What makes them special is one the sole of one foot is a bar code and the other foot has Thank you for your order while standing in front of part of my shoe collection (there are a lot of shoe and too many to show). When I first saw the shoe I was excited to get them and on foot they are absolutely comfortable.
If I were to develop a product for Nike I would develop a storage and packing system for sneaker collectors like myself to make it easy to store, organize and travel with your sneakers and keep them in great condition. The system would be a wall system that can be taken apart and moved from place to place. You would also put it in small areas like under a bed or small closet. The storage would be a mix of soft and hard storage (soft for travel and hard for home use). I would talk to other sneaker heads to find out what they are looking for in a storage solution by using surveys and questionnaires. Right now some people keep their shoes in the original boxes with stuffing and stack the boxes up but that takes up a lot of space. Some use shelving systems like IKEA Lack shelving, but both do not give travel options. With the system that I am looking to develop I would give the person that option. The system is not just limited too sneakers. You can put any style shoe in it like lofers, slides, booties, and pumps in the system. Normally Nike is not the kind of company that would do this but diving into this new segment would help them keep their customer base and also reach new customers especially ones that travel frequently.
