Fall Is Coming
I love fall. Fall feels like a new beginning, like a new year for me. I remember I would be secretly excited for the fall when I was in school. Light sweaters, jackets, new notebooks, pens, markers, and all the fantastic fall stuff. The crisp air the falling leaves, the newness of fall. This summer was not what I expected it to be but I’m glad everything happened the way it did (except the heat wave and my air conditioning not working in late May and early June).
I have already started looking in my closet and seeing what outfits I want to wear for the fall and I managed to forget some things that I’ve owned for a while. At the beginning of the season, I always get this spark of inspiration to wear things in my closet but by the time we get to the season, I end up wearing the same things over and over. I have to change that or my closet I going to become pretty small because I will get rid of the pieces I didn’t wear. I need to get better at this also, I am going to have to wear my other shoes besides my sneakers. I know that is going to be pretty hard for me but I do have some great loafers, flats, and boots that I cannot wait to wear. I have been amazed that some clothes that did not fit me that well last year fit better this year. So I have to wear them this year. I want to keep the new feeling of the season and have fun with my closet. I have not been shopping much this year and I wanted to shop my closet more to see what I have and what I can put together. I was in my closet and found a dress and cardigan set from Missoni that I purchased in 2019 from the Target 20 Years of Design collection and I was amazed at how it fit now. For some reason, I thought it was not going to look right but instead, it fit like a glove. I showed it to one of my sisters and she told me I had to wear it on a solo date soon. I also found a blouse from Philip Lim from the same sale and paired it with some wide-leg jeans that I purchased from another capsule collection at Target with Nili Lotan and I cannot wait to wear them with some super tall heels. I cannot wait to wear my more pants that float over my shoes and fun sweaters like the one that I picked up from the Black History Month Collection this past February and pair with sneakers (now you know I was not, not going to wear some sneakers). I can’t wait till the temperatures drop so I can wear all my cute stuff.
Fall is also a new season for me to decorate my home. I get my fall decor out and add all the pretty fall colors to my otherwise black-and-white home to warm it up and give me all the cozy vibes. I moved into my home right before the start of fall and I started collecting decor pieces soon after and it gets me even more excited for the new season and the start of the holiday season. I think I’m going to look for more stuff when I go shopping soon just to get a few more things but not too much because I don’t want to make it look junky.
I just love this season. From the weather to the fashion to decor I just cannot wait for it all to begin.
