Most Used Bags of 2022
As I look at all the bags I carried over the past year I realized that I have not carried as many in past years. The reason is that I am still working from home and my only outings are my bi-weekly Target and Trader Joe's runs. I do want to carry more of my bags but when you work from home and are hesitant to leave the house due to not wanting to catch anything you tend to not carry anything more than once or twice a week. After looking at all the selfies that I took in the elevator of my building here’s the short list of bags that I carried in 2022.
The Staud Moon Bag:
This bag was the easiest one for me to carry and is made of nylon. I wanted to get one of the Prada nylon bags but the price tag even on the pre-loved market was still a bit over my price range. When I found this bag on FarFetch in July 2021 I did not know that it would become one of my most used and loved bags. What I love most about it is that you can wear it with anything and it's extra roomie.
2. The Gucci GG Supreme Backpack in small:
I never thought I would love a backpack as much as I love this one. I remember the first time I saw this bag in a YouTube video and I instantly fell in love. I purchased it in April 2020 from FarFetch at the beginning of the pandemic and didn’t think I would be able to carry it more until 2 years later. If you watch a lot of my videos filmed during the summer, that bag is almost always missing from the top of the shoe boxes because I was carrying it at that moment. I love how it looks so small but you can carry everything including an iPad.
3. 3.1 Philip Lim Pashli in large:
This was one of the first luxury bags that I purchased. I remembered the first time I saw it on a YouTube video years ago I knew I wanted to get it. I carried it on and off over the years but this past year I carried it even more. I wanted to purchase a black crossbody bag and was looking all over to find one but one day I was in my main closet and almost forgot that I had this bag. I purchased the bag in August 2017 at a local resale shop that is no longer open. I remember seeing it in the glass case and knew that I had to have it and it was at a great price.
4. Marc Jacobs Soft Shot bag:
The last bag that I carried the most this past year was one that I had to carry out of necessity. This year we were asked to come back into the office on a flex schedule and a small panic set in because. I knew I was going to have to carry 2 laptops, keyboards, and a mouse so I needed to carry a purse that was not going to weigh me down anymore than what was on my back. So I went into my main closet and I remembered that I had the soft shot bag. I purchased the bag in May of 2019 at Nordstrom. I love this bag and how compact it is and that it holds so much stuff. I packed it one day with so much stuff the bag had a slight sag in the top but never lost its overall shape.
All 4 of these bags served a purpose at different times in the past year and I am so glad that I have all of them to carry. When I purchase bags I get styles that are not currently in my collection or a style that I am drawn to (like totes). Now we are in the new year and will any or all of the same bags carry into the new year? Only time will tell.
